family car match up
hey guys i was just on the internet and was kind of shocked to see that the 2000-2001 v6 camrys have 194hp and 209 ft lbs, but they are about 100 pounds heavier than a max. it said on edmunds that stock 0-60 in 7.1 which is pretty good, as far as power range goes how does the max compare with this camry? like 0-60 or like a rolling start or top end power? just overall wanted to have yalls opinion on how our max's match up. thanks for the feed back

I think it might be probably neck and neck all the way, if you are both auto. But plz someone else give an opinion cuz we are talking about a CAMERY...nuff said, If you are five-speed, enjoy the victory. 7.1 sec seems a little too optimisitic to me...that's almost like the new 240 V6 Accord!
usually its just "suggested" hp and tq. its not tested. so the only way is to actually dyno or do a 1/4mile on both. you always know that when they state it has 190hp, its really like 170-180hp. i dunno about 7.1s tho.. its too good for a camry. but toyota is stepping up its performance so it can be possible.
I've looked at car magazines for about the last decade, and they frequently test the V6 cars, though typically in automatics. The numbers always vary, so it is tough to know. I think for the most part that the Maxima is a little faster as an automatic. The fastest 5 speed 95-99 was a 95 Maxima at 6.6 seconds (motor trend). The fastest Camry was a late nineties 5 speed V6 -rare and no longer produced- 7.0 second zero to sixty, at least from the magazines that I've seen. In general, I'd say the camry automatic v6 is about a low eight second car zero to sixty.
i have found MSN autos to be a very trusty source of 0-60 numbers. The 2002 camry (v6 192 hp, 209 tq auto) does 0-60 in 8.52 secs, 1/4 in 16.6. im sure a 5 speed isnt gonna do 0-60 even close to 7 secs. they are not fast cars. my mom has a 2002 toyota avalon (v6 210 hp, 220 tq) and i will flat beat her off the line. toyotas have extremely smooth acceleration and the avalon packs quite a bit more top end power than me though. but as far as the camry, i dont think it could touch the max!
Hey I beat a Benz E320 today! That's a pretty good match up against the max. They both got 4doors and they're "grocery getters". Pretty nice car just not up to notch with the max. lol What kind of engine do the E320's have?? Anyone know? They have to have more power than the max it's just that they're heavy. Any one know the actualy specs on them? I think it was a newer E320 not sure though.

just last night, i beat a 2001 honda accord v6 auto which have a 3.0 litre vtec pushing out 200 hp. it wasnt even close. i beat him by 2 cars and was pulling as the race ended. my dads girlfriend has a 2002 camry v6 auto, and the thing weights like 4000+ lbs and it seems fast, but its not. my auto max would torch that thing
