timing chain

Sorry I did not have time to look through the threads and since the search doesnt work I am going to ask here. When is it proper to change the timing chain. I don't know much about the timing chain, so any advice would be great.

as far as i know the timing chain is good for the life of the car, rather than changing, sometimes thers a need to adjust the tensioner which may cause slack on the chain, if its making clacking sounds, then your need to change or adjust the tensioner

Ya, the timing chain is suppose to last the life of hte car, but sometimes the chain can fail. If it does start to fails you have a while before you have to start to worry. Some signs are odds noises, lots of vibrations.

Thanks, I wasnt quite sure about when and if you needed to change it, I have heard some people say you do, but they have mostly been domestic owners.
