Radio Cassette player lcd backlight out

My 1999 Maxima has a Clarion radio/cassette player. Everything still
works fine, except the backlight (?) is out that illuminates the lcd
display for the station number.

The LCD display is sharp and crisp day or night. It is just that
there is nothing to illuminate the station number at night. Kind of
hard to see.

Can someone tell me how to fix it?

TIA,
Steve

my only idea would be to figure out which light is out and then take the dash apart and then take the cd deck out and change the bulb if possible. otherwise see if clarion will send u something to fix it or a new deck...

I have taken the radio out and opened it up. it is a Clarion. I got down to look at the LCD display. there is a blue, what appears to be, LED behind the LCD display. Is this what illuminates the LCD display at night?

The radio works fine. i just need a flashlight to see what station I am on at night.....

Has anyone fixed one of these before?

Not to my knowledge, you could try replacing the LED's if you have the know how... Im wondering why you dont have a cd player.
