Weird steering problem.

I'll try to explain this best I can...

The problem occurs when I turn my steering wheel multiple turns, all the way to the "end". Usually, I guess, the power steering gives more pressure and you can't turn the steering wheel anymore. Well, my car seems to be having something wrong since when I get to the end, the steering wheel just "bangs" angainst something . There's no pressure buildup in the system (I'm not sure if this is how it really works..). I hope you guys understand what I mean. Anyways, is this a problem? I,m not noticing any leaks in power steering fluid or anything. Howerver, I do notice a weird worn bearing sound when I turn the wheel quickly.

Has anyone else had this problem?
