help.. what is this sound?

When I'm turning right and I have the window down I hear a whistling/screeching sound coming from what seems to be the right wheel area. What could this be?

if its a knocking/popping/cracking sound then its either your cv boot or front strut bearings. do you only hear the sounds only when youre turning? if so, is it only turning right or is it left also? do you hear the sounds when driving normal and going straight?

I don't hear it when going straight. Just when turning. And I have low miles. Is this a fix it myself project or bring it in to the shop?

so if its turning.....do you hear it when doing a right turn into a street at normal speed or do you hear it a low speed like turning into a parking spot? if its at higher speeds its most likely the CV boot, and if its at low speeds (turning into a parking spot) then its probably the strut bearings. as far as fixing it yourself.....i dont know, i'm not mechanically inclinded to say.

then it could just be your cv boot. you're probably gonna have to change your cv boot and get a new axle (not a very big deal). check behind your front two tires to see if your cv boots are torn.

I have the same exact problem! Except mine is at slow speeds when I'm turning to the left.Sound comes from the right. Do I just need to replace the strut bearings or is it a big enough exscuse for a new mod? planning on it anyways......
