Cai Remix

ok, the title is corny. but today I tried something different with my ebay Injen knock off CAI, my bud and I decided to take out the big long metal pipe out (where the Cone connects), and replace it with this plastic flexible tube thingy that they sell at Autozone (for $22) (its funny how this stupid thing was invented, its just a flexible huge straw) Anyhow the well it took us about 1hr or so, unscrewing the heat shield under the car, screwing in the braces, and adjusting the plastic pipe, well after getting everythign set right, the Cone hangs at the very bottom, just a inch above the heatshield cover. I really think/hope its a bit better than the original intake. 1 well I would think the metal pipe would get really hot, and the plastic stay a bit cooler. and its way down there so that thing can suck some air. Hopefully I'll post some pics soon. We're looking at buying a crappy used headlamp to modify into a short ram intake, for racing applications. Has anyone done this? What I'm traying to do is take out the headlight (the glass and metal part, and just keep the black frame, modify it and make a hole in it, and connect the pipe to that. (I know this would take a while if I where to do this at the track, so what we want to do is accomplish making the ram air, then set out to the track VERY VERY EARLY, add the ram air, and see what differecens it makes. For now we're gonna go with this setup, and hopefully next week go with Spaniards setup, (Having the cone fitted into the foglight mount), any feed back would help, or if anyone has done this add your information or helpful tips, oh and pics please. Thanks

I think it works, its sounds louder, and seems to be doing very well. I'm taking the car to the track hopefully this friday, maybe we can see some numbers. But I would rather go with it, than the Injen. The car feels more responsive some how.
