How can you beat a 98 V6 accord with a MAXIMA 98 V6 *both auto*

This question at first you think its dum, it ain't well automatic driver such as myself. I would love to change the tranny but to much damn money and I don't think its worth it. Well anyways me and my friend (drives the 98 accord) decided to go on a test run, and turns out accord beats the maxima after couple seconds after the take off. The maxima (which is mine; MAXIMA 98 GLE) has a bomb tourqe so it takes off much better but like seconds like my friend would catch up and eat me. Turns up the reason why he wins (he ran this run like 5 times) its because of V-tec low budget turbo in other words so now he's all big headed and I want to pop it. Does anyone know how to take on a accord? You think its a lie but it ain't the accord is the v6 but with the vtec.

hmmm, both auto, u have more torque, more hp, he's most likely vtec but doesnt matter, you will beat him, guaranteed. i think weight is even in your favor. stock vs stock maxima is faster.

Up top, the Honda is going to take you because of the VTEC. If you had the VI, you would take him all the way up to neverland. Those cars still get whooped in the 1/4 mile though.

I actualy have both cars...one 2000 accord and my 98 max. Both V6 and both Autos....I feel my Accord pulls better on the highway than my max...I mean much more better but both has a bit of hesitation when going WOT.

Then again, I think I need to change my Knock Sensor and O2 sensor on the max.

I dunno why ur having a hard time. I have raced 2 accords with my max and managed to beat them and i'm stock. Alll I saw on them was a muffler but i don't think it was a catback. both of them that i raced were v6's auto but my max is 5spd but it shouldn't make the big of a difference.

quite an interesting post. i had a kill. and it has to do wit an accord v6. my 96 maxima vs. a accord v6 coupe. the maxima stock is about 250-300 pounds lighter than the COUPE. so its 4 doors vs. 2 doors. my car has an injen intake y pipe and the whole exhaust done. i had my 18s on also. the other car had a dual exhaust wit stock wheels. i didnt hear any intake. the accord had only a driver and a passenger. i had my gf and my sister in the car and a bunch of stuph in the backseat and trunk.

heres where the interesting part is. me my gf and my sister combined weight is about 440 lbs. and the 18s add another 30-40 pounds. and the misc. stuph in the car maybe bout 20 pounds. thas already a lot of weight. almost 500 pounds over stock.

the accord and my car was prolly bout the same weight. about 3500-3550. he took off first at the light. then i floored it. i was walkin him and passed him. beat him bout almost a car length. i was ****ed when i was passin him. haha. i laffed.. it was a good run. i know his vtec kicked in. the funny thing is.. he took off first. now i dono if it was the mods or anything.. but i smoked him. jus somethin that i thought was interesting. rollin on 18s is too much weight in a race. not to mention my sister weighs almost as much as i do.. and she was in hte back seat. it was a good run. i was happy.. good ole maxima.

i think that the maxima and the accord stock should run about the same. the maxima has a 250-300 pound weight advantage. idono.. seems odd. that accord coupe was "hooked up" haha.. jus my .20 cent. .cuz its a long post. PEACE
