How much does it cost to do a drop???

I have a 98 and my shocks sound beat up. It may have something to do with me driving on 18's last fall....
If I was to do anything to the suspension, I would like to drop it at the same time. I am not into the super stiff shocks or anything. This is too much of a daily driver to me, and I drive a lot, so a firm-but-soft ride is what I am after (if there is such thing), with a little drop.
What do you guys estimate it would cost me?

I would say in your case, H&Rs would be the way to go, and they are $189.02 from http://www.adventon.com/
If you want a cheaper, non adjustable strut with a decent ride, I would say KYB GR-2 Possibly, they go for $269 from http://www.shox.com/ so you are lookin at spending in the area of 500....
I got my entire setup for 350...sprints with kyb agx

$500 ought to hook you up right about now, if not a little more. You could get the top of the line struts(Illuminas) for $425 shipped right now. There are some group deals going on so check in those forums.

I am not a suspension expert, so excuse me.
I understand that there are not just options of what company and model to go with, but also if you want shocks, struts or springs, right?
Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought shocks go on the front and struts on the rear (or viceversa) and they have a spring around them. Is that correct?
If you know where I can find some sort of visual info please point the way.
