ripped cv boot

i looked at the cv boot this after noon and noticed it was ripped.. I dont get clicking sounds when i turn or anything. What would be the best way to go? Change the boot? Is it possible to just seal it some way? Any help is apreciated.

Get it replaced ASAP, when you hear clicking=Very bad, cost about $65.

I just fixed the rip in my passenger side boot a couple of weeks ago when I was installing my new clutch. Luckily I caught it in time. I just cleaned all the crap out of the CV joint and repacked it with grease and slapped a new boot on it.

Why in the HEII did you got the dealer?? BAD IDEA!! Goto some independent mechanic. Way cheaper!

I don't want to say almost any mechanic can do it...but they should be able to. I had this happen as well. Of course I'm in Portugal and certain things are at different prices here but, I had my CV boot replaced, the CV joint cleaned and re-packed, had my H&R springs installed and had a wheel alignment done all for around 80 Euros. I don't know how it would be in the states though... But Yes! Have it replaced Immediately! And Don't go to the stealer...That price they quoted you was all for labor. That is a ridiculous price. Take it easy.
