i think drew needs to add a lighting page to his website..this is like the 9th silver star thread in a 3 weeks..

anyhow, silverstar
-nice color if you dont like ricey blue. its a clean cool white
-blows in under a year
-decent near stock dry visibility
-bad rain visibility( blue light disperses easily)
-relatively expensive
-whiteness fades and dulls out after a while
-many cheaper alternatives that will also last you no more than a year.

no your harness wont burn..these are stock wattage..45/65

I've had silverstars for 3 months and I have no problems with them. They're not quite as bright as i thought they would be but a lot whiter than stock. I dont notice any reduction in visibility in the rain, but i sure hope my silverstars last a decent amount of time. Eh, got em on sale at pep boys, im satisfied.

They don't blow in one year.

(Unless you make them)

I switched my stock headlight and foglight bulbs for Silverstars a couple of months ago (if that long) and they've been doing me great so far... nice and bright and white. I haven't noticed reduction of visibility in the rain, but that might just be me. I haven't had them in there that long, so I guess I can't speak for how long they last... my current opinion is a thumbs up, though.

oh yeah!! anything over stock wattage will kill the harness. i was on my 4th pair of harnesses not including stock. what i did was cut the harness of, crimp on 3 female connectors and plugged those into the back of the bulb. wrap it in some electrical tape and you should be good to go. this way has lasted me twice as long (and counting) as replacing them every 2-3 weeks. i dont know why they fry but its always the ground pin that melts, and no, grounding it elsewhere doesnt help any.

I have both the silverstar headlights and fogs and I like them so far. I have had the headlights for almost a year and no probs so far the fogs I got at x-mas and they work great. I didn't notice any probs with the rain we had recently. I like them, and would recommend them. I also put in the silverstar turn bulbs, they have a blue tint when not lit and orange when lit. I wish sylvania would make the 194 bulb in the silverstar so I could have all silverstar.
