finally, replaced KS!

Bought Ks, from Ebay almost 2 weeks ago. I finally had a chance to replace it this weekend, I've had the ghost 0304 ever since aug last year..I used skippy method, I found it much easier than motorvate.ca method. After I loosened the bolt I had a difficult time to find this Wire u clip to disconnect from the harness..Some fellow org members steered me in the right direction, silver coloured U clip is actually located on the sensor itself, I was looking for it on the wrong side of the KS...Finally replaced!..I noticed a difference today, Car feels more powerful, Idles more quietly. Before I couldn't chirp my tires at takeoff, now the car feels like it wants to be driven hard. The enjoyment of driving a 5 speed has returned.! for those of you who have the ghost 0304 replace KS right away..You'll appreciate your car much more!

I am about to do the same. My KS is on the way from e-bay, too. I located it on the engine the other day and I want to know how bad did you skin your hands? Looks like it would be impossible to get to. How long did it take you?
What is the skippy method? Any link to see the step by step?

Here's the link to Skippy's instructions: http://www.skippynet.com/maxima/knocksensor.htm

BTW, can anyone provide a link to the Ebay member selling KS? I searched Ebay using the keywords "Maxima Knock Sensor", but can only find one person who selling them in an auction.

It took a little fumbling around to place the flex socket on top of the KS..use a flashlight, I used a 10 inch extension atached to the flex socket. My hands are not too big, so my hands weren't cut up too much.

I tried to change mine this weekend but I couldn't break the bolt. I did break the socket though. Has anyone else had this problem?

I swapped out my socket yesterday so I can give it one more try. I'll let you know how it turns out.

I got a knock sensor code and it tripped my cel light. Are you saying that it might not be my knock sensor at all? Do you think there would be another reason besides the K.S that could give me the K.S code?

Why don't you spray some wd-40 or liquid wrench on it, to loosen the bolt up.
