Possible ECU swap?
Possible ECU swap?
I currently have a 95 auto maxima, and will hopefully be getting a 97 5spd soon. The MEVI is a mod I'm considering, but I"d also like the added ECU benefit. Will the 95 auto ECU be functional in the 5spd? And visa versa, the 97 into the 95? Just wanted to know, incase I dont have to buy a separate ECU for the 97 maxima. Thanks
Justin
One other thing...clutches. There is a stock clutch in the car, but has VLSD
, I run right now a 50 shot of nitrous, but would like to up it to 75 or higher, and I know the stock clutch wont hold w/ all the bolt on's. What's the best clutch I should get? Mostly street use, but a lot of spirited driving, as well as track use (but that's seasonal since we have several feet of snow half the year)

I would have to say that the 95 will work regardless of transmission but i don't know if the 97 ecu will work in the 95. I'm pretty sure that it will. You will probably just have a CEL on both cars.
As for the clutch, i would go with the exedy clutch OEM replacement or the stage one that they offer as well. I read that the ACT is a great clutch as well to work with but people have said that the clutch grips so well that other component in the transmission break down.
