Who has one and what do they like about it. how much can I get one for? What are the gains that I should expect from installing the udp?

I'm thinking this may be my next mod too. Courtesy sells them for around 190 I think; you also need to get the main crank oil seal and new belts. There is already quite a bit of info on here if you search. Anyone have anything new to add?

Who sells it cheaper?

I did a full writeup, including dispelling some common myths, at my site on:

I got mine from Stillen for $165 without the belts and got the belts from discountautoparts.com for $11 including shipping and the oil seal for $5 from a local dealer...
I say GregP has by far the best write up on this subject and also others... Oh and always replace the oil seal...

Heard it's relatively easy on a 5speed, but it's a pain in the a$$ for an auto.

UDP was my 2nd mod after the CAI. The combo was great for low end power. Dropped my 0-60 from 7.1 to 6.7-6.8.

Only took about 2hrs for my ASE buddy to install on a 97 5sp. Just make sure to have the new belts beforehand.

Hey Greg,

Can you give me a ballpark price for the install by the manufacturer.

I'm happy with mine

After tinkering with the stupid power steering belt loosener, I took the car to a local Nissan specialist and paid $50 to install. They were done with the car in half an hour. I paid $150 for mine from emax and I think it was a good deal. My car revs faster and gear coasting reduces you speed a lot more. I see about an extra 10 miles per tank which equates to .4 MPG gain (it all adds up )

anyone know if this mod will work well with a ECU upgrade.
Would they compliment each other?
Thanks, E

plrod Black 95 SE,
How does your KYB/H&R setup working for you?

-How does the ride compare to stock?
-how are the KYB's handling the springs?

Thanks, E

Install was cheap and well worth it!!!

I think it was about $100 bucks. My web site has all the info (so I don't have to remember it!!)

The springs have been on for about a month now and they have gotten a little softer I think with time, I like the drop and the KYB's are doing fine. I know I wouldn't be happy with any bigger drop though bc you can notice the difference big time. I'm going to be experimenting with my stock wheels then 16's then 17's to see how the ride differs. When I did the drop I also installed 18's so it's difficult to decipher the effect of each separately.

sorry to change the subject on everyone.
Thanks for the reply plrod Black 95 SE.

I'm looking to do the same thing, I'd like to keep
a stock comfortable ride only lower.

Thanks again, E

UDP is a good mod. every little thing helps.

easy install, compared to others... just watch out for the center nut on the Pulley itself.

problem getting it off? get a long breaker bar ~24 inches long. prop the bar attached to the socket onto the cetner nut, lower the car until the bar is pinned against the ground, crank two - three times of the key, and the pulley will move due to the engine, and thus releasing the center nut (because the pulley will move CLOCKwise, and thus loosen nut)

simple but VERY effective ..

read up on my current projects page on the UDP for a comment/analysis of the install.

install instructions (which are great) at Greg P's site...
