Autos are the only ones that have torque converters. 5spds don't.

u can get them for auto like said above, you already have one, like 5 speeds have flywheel, a torque converter is basicly like 2 "FANS" facing each other in a metal housing, one of the "FANS" is connected to the crank shaft and the other one is connected to the tranny input shaft, the converter is filled with some liquid and as the "FAN" is being spun by the engine the power is transfered by the liquid to the other "FAN", so that's y the car has no problem with staying in D with the brakes aplied cause the tranny input shaft is not really connected to the motor...i hope u understand what i just said...you can get a torque converter upgrade for your auto just like 5 speeds can get a light weight flywheel, giving/freeing ur cars torque.

Thank you for breaking in down for me, so if I get that and add it to my list of mods, would I most likely be hitting 14.6 or lower??? Let just say I have a good launch, spark plugs, oil change, etc.....

Now:y-pipes,UDP,and CAI
This coming week:VBmod and Tranny Cooler
Future: ECU, pathfinder TB, headers, and torque converter

wel u can get a better one, then the one that u have now (stock) that would increase your torque by quite a bit, if i was an auto i would be looking into getting one.
