Hanshin coils vs Mitsubishi coils

Will the updated Hanshin ignition coils work as well (and last as long) as the Mitsubishi ones?

Thanks...

Hanshin is the brand that went out on me in my '99...so it's your choice.
*shrug*

Yeah, that worries me. But I understand that the problems with the Hanshin coils were fixed. So, I guess I'm really asking if anyone has any information on the updated Hanshin coils. Are they reliable?

I have not heard. Let's just put it this way, since I don't know either, I will probably be going with some Mistu ones in my 99.

Ok, well I just called the parts stores at the local Nissan dealership and at jerryromenissan.com. They both say that the updated Hanshin and Mitsubishi have the same reliability and preformance. Jerry Rome also said that they keep Hanshin in stock and have to order the Mitsubishi coils from California.

With that in mind, I've got a 12 month warranty and a good price on the Hanshins. I've giong to give them a shot. I'll let you guys know if I start having problems with them.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I missed the original posts on this. Are these "hotter" coil packs? Whats the gain?

There is no gain. It was a question of reliability. The Mitsus "were" more reliable than the Hanshins. People who had coil failures, were replacing their old coils with Mitsus.

If you miss the original posts on a thread, all you have to do is go back and read them.

Yeah, I was just talking about reliability.
I just don't want to put something in my Max that is going to fail again in another couple of years. I hope to be giving this car to my kids when I have them. What a great first car.....and it is a 5spd. I wish I would have only been so lucky with my first car. I had a 1984 Chevy Caprice Classic Wagon. The thing was a tank.
