trying to reset ecu......help
I'm trying to reset my ecu but i dont see that screw located on the side of the ecu,is it the one thats labeled idle adjustment cuz i thought its supposed to be a flathead screw this one looks like a phillips.Thats the only screw i see and its set back not flush with the edge.

Mine looked like a phillips too. It doesn't really matter, it will take a small one anyway. I just used a tiny flat screwdriver to do it. I didn't know to pull the sticker back, but instead just poked through it and ripped the sticker. It would probably be better to pull the sticker back from the side if you haven't already.
Also, that resets the codes(turning clockwise until stop....wait 5 seconds......turn all the way back counter clockwise....wait 5 seconds--then repeat again), but from what I understand, it will not reset the actualy ECU. Like I am going to have to reset the ECU so that it will learn some of my new mods more quickly. To do this, just unhook your battery overnite and then it will be reset and immediately start learning all of your new settings.
Hope this helps...

1. I am telling you it is two different things. To reset the codes if you have an error code and want to clear it off, you use the adjuster screw on the little ECU unit in the car by the Pedal.
2. Unhooking the battery will totally reset the ECU....ie if you have done some mods and want it to recognize the new mods and want it to learn the mods quicker. I think if you don't do that, it takes like 500 or so miles to learn what you have done.
That is what I was saying. They are not the same. See what I mean?
