I am looking to put a ON/OFF toggle switch in place of one of my coin holders. I saw someone who did this with a NOS switch.... my question is this. How do I get the whole center console thing up to run the wires under it... ? See the attachment if you don't know where I am talking about.

Hey, I've actually installed three switches in the coin holders (one in each holder). I went to Nissan and purchased three of the flat plastic cover things, like what is next to the dimmer switch on the dash panel behind the steering wheel and put the switches in those. As for your question of getting the wires up from the dash through the holes so you can install them into the rear of the switches...Take a metal clothes hanger, stretch it out so it is straight like a stick. Put it through the hole where the switch is going to be and run it to where you have the wires. Tape the wires to the end of the hanger and pull it through the hole. It's really easy, let me know if you need any more clarification.

plastic cover things?

I know you were very specific... "three of the flat plastic cover things, like what is next to the dimmer switch on the dash panel behind the steering wheel " but why didnt you just drill holes through the bottom of the coin holders? that is what I am planning on doing. Can you pleaseeee provide some pics of your finish product ? Thanks!!!

heres what i did when i ran the switch for my aftermarket fogs... I brought the wires in through the firewall, put the plastic wire cover over the 3 wires to keep then together... when you put the wire through the center console, you have to look through the slot where the e brake is because you have to slip the wires through a hole when you tuck it under the plastic side of the console rather than just pushing it underneath it... once you push it through, you just push it enough so you can grab it from the e brake space... then you just pop the piece out and connect the switch.. i was gonna do what custom did with the empty slot and fit the switch in but all the dealerships i called said they dont stock them... a friend of mine found a switch that fits that slot perfect so thats what im gonna do when i get the time to do it... if you need more help let me know

hlh what he means is the plastic inserts that fill in empty switch spaces... they are like a dummy so you dont see an empty gap.... my friend has a 240SX and he has the same pieces so i guess theyre not just on our car... i was surprised that the guy didnt know what i was talkin about when i called the dealership parts department asking for it... oh well

perfect fit switch....

hlh0501:
I also have pulled out the 3 coin holders in the center and installed x3 switches, x1 sub woofer on/off, x1 floor neons(x5), x1 ceiling neons(x2 mini 6"). Also next to the dimmer switch i replaced the blank slot with a switch for my stock fog re-wire. Now they are totally independant from the cars lighting system. The switches also come with an amber LED in them as well, all you have to do is ground the switch and they light, but they are kinda bright so i decided not to.

Im not sure if you have an ATV by you but, if you would like i can get you the 3 swithces that fit into the opening perfectly! Drop me an E-mail and we can work something out. or I also have the company name and number below.

part# 494399 at ATV $9.99 each

or

PERFECT PERFORMANCE PRODUCTS, INC.

part# on box 80407 (spst off/on)amber
