go to autozone and get some liquid wrench it will help a lot. as for the bolts i reused my bolts and they worked just fine, but you could go to the stealership and buy two new cat bolts?

i couldnt get mine off either. I bought liquid wrench and that still didnt do the trick. So I just put one bolt in the front section and one in the middle section and took it o meineke and gave the guy there 5 bucks and he took them off with the air tools.

Cough, Get air tools, Cough.

Actually I did this install before I had airtools. I did the same as MaXAnDy. I went to a local shop and they cracked off the bolts. I then drove home. If you leave the Y-Pipe on the manifold it won't be a problem to drive without the rest of the exhaust for a few miles. Lucky for me, my exhaust shop is .1 miles away.

Listen to maxima98vspec...PB Blaster is da bomb. You can get it at your local Walmart. Spray that magical elixer on all of the bolts and let it soak for ~15min then spray it again and wait another ~15min. You should have no problem in taking the bolts off now. Remember, struggling is half the fun of modding. It make completion all the more sweet.

14mm socket with regular wrench will do the job, but you must:

1. get wd40
2. spray and pray
3. pull like a ****

good luck

those are the exhaust gasket. you should put them in between the y-pipe and the header (where the connect). even though those rings look kinda ghetto, but they work really well.

you should have 3 though, 2 for the headers and 1 for the cat. if you don't go to nissan dealership and pick one up. i don't have the exact part number but just ask for maxima exhaust gasket. (i think it was $4-5). if you dont' get it...enjoy the leackage

I just installed my y pipe and due to 120k miles in chicago and the wonderful salt I ended up cutting off the heads of the bolt to get the Y off. Then I took liquid wrench to the studs left it for an hour hten took a propane torch to heat up the metal around the bolt so it expanded a little. Grabbed vise grips and just pulled one of the studs right out. Other one I had to drill out. I love salt/rust.

Midas won't be very pleased with you but they might do it. Go to your local exhaust shop and have em toss it on. With a lift this can be done in 20 minutes.
