Door light went out...

I was changing my bulbs to hyper whites -- and I pryed the driver's bulb out...and I put the new one in..and it doesn't work. I put the stock bulb in and nothin happened.

WTF? Do I need a new bulb holder?

Psst, flip it around. Anyone got one of these covers lying around. I've done it 50 times before but on 51 it decided to crack.

You probably caused a short, and blew a fuse while prying the old bulb out.

Mine doesnt work either, and it happened the same way as you. Never got around to fixing it though. Somtimes it comes on, but doesnt shut off when the doors are closed, so unplugged it.

Are you guys trying it in both directions. I was being serious in my previous post. On the stock bulb it will work any way you plug it in while an aftermarket will only have two terminals. Thus, it will work only of the two ways.

Same thing happened to me when I was installing an LED in the door. Now no bulb works. I heard that it is a special fuse or relay located somewhere else in the hood. I have no idea, but have heard they can fix if you take it to the Stealership.

is it just one side that does not work? if so then you will need to replace the window switch or run wires from the other door. I just ran wires from my other door when it stopped working. The window switch has a BCM that deals with the door light and i have heard that those tend to go alot.

This has nothing to do w/ the topic, but I just noticed that you spelled your color wrong on the little profile on the side...serling silver

Wow am I the lucky one? I've messed around with the bulbs and door switch and they still work. Though I did manage to mix up the controls the the drivers door, the rear pass. window switch controls the rear drivers window and vice versa.

Well to help out try this, switch the whole window switch assembly from the drivers side to the passangers side. If the light works then something is wrong in part of multiplex system of the window control. I know this box controls the light and I know the two are innerchangeable.
