I was wondering, how did any of you guys that made your own conversion put in the clear part of the lens (ie, made from a flourescent light cover)? The means in which I put them in was to make it a little snuggle fit and then just super glued it. I was wonering if the glue would hold it and not like break off. Hmm...any comments? Just dont want it to fall off and have to go through the trouble to fix it, I already cracked the housing a little and got stupid finger prints from the glue inside the case, looks a little funny but not too noticable. So I guess its ok.

Hey Danny, I too cracked a small part of my lense. All I did to fix it was to superglue the cracked piece back together. I didn't glue the inner clear lense and I haven't had any problems so far. Here are some pics:

Yah, I too super glued it, but I had to super glue the inside because I put it more inwards, like how the stock ones are, and it wouldnt stay in place without something holding it, like the super glue. But I'm just kind of concerned that the inner piece will crack because the plastic I used (from HomeDepot) is stiff, like not too flexable. So I just dont want it to crack from the impact when driving over bumps. Hopefully it'll last a long time, kind of a pain to take the lens housing apart, very time consumming.

I know how you feel Danny but the time and effort spent on this mod is well worth it. It dramatically changes the appearance of the rear and makes it look much cleaner.

It is worth the time, especially if you are also doing the inner tails to fully match eveyrything. Its even more time consuming when you are sanding down the edges of the inner lenses to the perfect snug size so you won't have to use any glue.
