Lag in RPM's around 3k?

Ok, I hit 3k RPM and then the engine stops progressing in the RPM's. It starts again in about 2 seconds but it's aggravating. Any ideas? Experiences?

My car does that too, when it's cold. It downshifts, sticks at 3k rpm for a sec or two, then goes up again. It doesn't do so when it's warm, for some reason.

Under what conditions does this happen? Cold, hot, or both, hard acceleration, easy acceleration, Auto or manual? Have you changed the plugs lately? does the car die or just hesitate at that RPM?
as Johnny 5 would say, Need more input.

It might be coil packs or oil filter too. I have had a similar thing, and have not had a chance to fix it.

Mine is a WOT at about the same rpm or a little higher and then, it kicks back in strong at like 4k rpms. It sucks. I hope to remedy the problem soon.

If it's under acceleration, there is some big chance it could be your knock sensor. Check if you have some code.

it's your knock sensor. i had this problem when with ghost 0304 CEL. the reason that's causing this problem is that a malfuntional knock sensor will retard the ignition mapping when the throttle is open 30% or more, therefore when you are in 3rd gear (od/off) and open the throttle 30% or more, it holds back.

yes, but the only code I am getting is the 0505. That means nothing is wrong, according to the ECU.
