I want to buy a Cold Air Intake but as always im short on cash. I think i remember something about all cold air intakes being basically the same. I was wondering that if I buy and cheap CAI from ebay for like $40 and use K&N filter if it would be the same as buying like an expensive name brand cold air intake?

 

They are all the same thing. Im going to get and ebay intake and a K&N later. For the expensive intakes, you are just paying for the name.

 

bomz racing makes good intake (both short ram and CAI), just make sure the filter is real K&N, not "K&N style" filter. it makes a difference because air is being inducted by the cone filter to the intake piping then to the manifold then to the engine for combustion, a quality filter will determine the type of air being inducted into the engine, therefore choosing the proper filter is important.

K&N has good reputation, but usually their size is a little bit too small compare with JWT and stillen. either way K&N is a good start to pick up some quick WHP.
