Is it ok to run 91 octane with a Technosquare or JWT ECU? I heard that you should run 93 octane with these ECU's, but where I live 91 is the highest. Should it be fine?

 

Oh yeah, the reason I am asking this is because I heard somewhere that 93 octane should be used with the ECU. I am just curious if it is bad at all to use 91 octane. Any possible problems I could run into?

 

running higher octane is usually better. running 91 won't hurt, but running 93 will benefit more in terms of performance.

you can still run 91 with technosquare ECU without any problem. i wouldn't stress over it.

 

I run 91 octane with the jwt and I have no problems with it.

yea JWT is located in San Diego where they only sell 91 octane. When I had them put a slightly more agressive program on my car the guy told me to watch out and listen for any pinging...so far its been almost a year and no problems at all.

 

The JWT ECU does like higher octane. I see gains from using 96-97 octane at the track with my JWT.
