I've my Max for quite awhile now. But I started getting curious about the transmission. It's supposed to adapt to your driving style (upshift downshift timing) right? I guess I'm just curious if the car would respond better if I disconnected the battery for awhile (how long?). It seems like sometimes it will downshift fine. But sometimes, you can floor it, and its like the tranny isn't paying attention or something and continue to stay in that gear for 2-3 seconds before downshifting .

Never heard of it adapting to your driving, how did you find this out?

Your transmission runs a set program. Shift points are determined by throttle position and engine RPM's.

It does not adapt to your driving style.
