gauge bulbs and wax question

I took about 30min - 1 hour trying to change by gauge bulbs to blue ( which i got at advance auto parts....the 194 one) but it looks really dim and looks more of a green than blue. Where can i buy really bright BLUE 194 light bulbs? and which wax works best on maxima to give the shiniest look? thanks~

Did you try adjusting it with the dimmer switch? The one behind the steering wheel, just under all the gauges.

Try using the new PIAA led bulbs or PIAA Extreme bulbs. I used both in my dash and both work really well.

Wow yours are really dim!
I bought some from http://www.superbrightleds.com/1157.htm got some 194's
Exact name: "Single LED Wedge Base Bulbs", these have an inverted tip to spread the light. Some ppl will complain they are too dim, but I don't think so

(camera can't seem to capture any LED's I take a picture of...so excuse the fuzzy pics)

I sell the bulbs at the shop I work at for like 22 bucks a pair. The are PIAA's so you know they are good. I have had mine for a year now and no fading at all in color.

Go with www.superbrightled.com. I Just did my gauges last week with the same bulbs as madchef and I am very happy with the results. I actually just posted about this today. The only other suggestion I have is to go ahead and change your turn signal bulbs as well (size 74 led bulb). The green is soooo out of place with all the blue. Oh yeah and maxjetblack...my gauges looked like that at first but I just had some of the bulbs in wrong. Try taking them out and turning them 180 degrees. But you might want to get new ones because they do look green to me. Good luck

Wax: Check the detailing board.

Short Answer: It's up to you...Klasse is good, Meguiar's new Tech wax is supposed to be good, Meguiars carnuba wax is good, S100 is good, Zaino I don't like but is supposed to be good, Ardex is good...etc.

and if you're still having trouble, i can give you simpler write-up. shouldnt take long and should be pretty simple enough. make sure you dont lose any of the screws tho.

Anybody know if the bulbs this guy used just plug right in? Or do they need some kind of modification like the LEDs for the climate control/hazards seem to? Thanks.
