How to change bulbs for gauge turn signals

I was intrested in changing my green turn signal arrows in my gauge to blue or white. Does anyone know if there's a special bulb that can be swoped or is the color green from a screen covering the bulbs? Is it more difficult than It seems? Has anyone done this Mod, If so please post? Also That noise, Tick Tick Tick from the turn signals, could it be stopped? Is there some relay that makes the noise and could it be removed or bypassed? Thanks for any input...

I think the sound could be stopped by removing whatever makes the sound (I'm pretty sure it's not necessary to the blinker's functionality). As for the turn signal color change, I'd also like to know this. I wonder if red cellophane would work like with the clock mod.

maxjetblack, are you saying you tried it on the turn signals, or just the clock?

I installed LEDs in the turn signal indicator lights. I first tried red, but through the green there was no light output. I ended up using a white LED and now it is still green but lighter in color. Araffio used blue LEDs and they light up blue, so changing the color is possible. I don't think you can get rid of the green filter but an LED can shine color through it.

I don't think that it's possible to get rid of the tick sound entirely. The tick is the relay clicking and the relay powers the light. No tick, no light. There are aftermarket flasher relays, thats the proper name, that make more noise for older and/or hard of hearing people. Maybe someone makes a quiet relay or quieter, but I'm guessing it's not a direct fit. One thing you can try is insulating it so it is muffled.

Tony told me how to change the color of the turn signals. He sanded down the green (its on the piece of plastic in front of the bulb) then masked off an arrow. I used white 3mm LEDs with a resistors bought off ebay. The 5mm will fit behind the idiot lights just fine though.

So the green on the plastic could be removed by sanding? The plastic wasnt orginally green? or in other words solid green throughout? what do u meant by masked off an arrow? I might be mistaken but isnt an arrow already there? That sounds intresting I have to find some time for this one.

there is a piece of plastic over the 4 lights <- O/D High beam -> it looks black from the front, but obviously light shines through, i guess the plastic is clear in the middle black on one side and green, yellow, blue, green on the other. Am I confusing the crap out of you? Then he must have used tape, maybe electrical tape, to make a new arrow because he sanded the old one off. So to sum it up yes the plastic is clear with just a bit of green on top that can be removed.

What kind of sandpaper (what grit) was used to do this? Don't want to scratch the plastic. Or does it matter since the green is on the bottom?
