2.2L is the 4 cylinder, you're going to freakin' own him. I think they have 140hp.

He won't have an H22A, unless he did an engine swap. 0-60 is about 8.4 with a 5spd (stock). Those mods might get him down to 8.1-8.2. So yeah, its not even a race.

I used to have an accord, its 0-60 was 9.5. I thought it was pretty quick until I bought a maxima. I loved my accord but it had nothing on the highway. Those accords have very respectable torque #'s for a 4 cyl (about 150), but weight is still an issue. My seemed to run out of power around 50mph. The max doesn't run out of power until around 100. The 4th gen max weighs less than that accord, so 40 more torque and 50 more horsepower makes these cars uncomparable.

His only bragging rights come when he has to fill up with gas. Basically, he would need forced induction or nitrous to make it a race.

you'll probably lose if its a manual. Those honda 4 cyl engines put out tons of torque. Those exact same engines are used in about 50% of the semitrucks that you see on the street, only diff is they've been changed to run on diesel fuel.

hahahaha, this is a funny post dunt be so mean to the accord though, he doesnt know his car is horrible, best to mess with him and just give it about half thottle during the start, then make sure u get at least a 5 car length win on him

thats what i meant. and ive ran MANY accords in my maxima. and a 5spd accord vs an auto maxima is a good match on the highway and even from a roll. The maxima will/should take it out, but they dont back down easy.

I owned an accord and its true it weighs more than my GXE. 20 lbs more actually.

the accord holds 17.5 gallons, just like the 4th gen maxima. and my friend ran a 15.8@89mph with a f22(stock motor) in a 95' accord 5spd. Most maximas on this board run mid 15s@88mph. so no it wouldnt take F/I to make an acord hang with a maxima.

the fill up gas line was refering to the fact that 4 cyl accords get better gas milage, not that they have a different tank size.

When I got my emissions tested, they test curb weight. My 90 accord: 3223 lbs. My 95 max: 3027. 200 lbs makes a world of difference.

By the way guys, don't knock VTEC. If the maxima had a VTEC system, it would probably run mid 6's or better, and get better fuel economy. VTEC is one of the greatest inventions to the intenal combustion engine. VTC cam phasing just doesn't compare. Oh, and the MEVI, honda came out with it in the accord in 1991 (accord se). The maxima is still a sleeper, but I love hondas as well.

"pretty sure"? - I don't get it, you will completely own him - no challange

that's like saying "my girlfriends brother just grew his first pube...I'm 25 years old and im pretty sure I can beat him up but every1 tells me the first-pube guys are HE-MAN...what u all think?"

according to edmunds.com (years and types of trans are consistent with the cars in question.)

94 accord manual gets 25 mpg city/ 31 mpg highway
98 maxima auto gets 21 mpg city / 28 mpg highway (96 max is same, manual tranny gets one more city and one less highway)

that was my point.

although I don't disagree with the above-listed info, you must know that edmunds is a very poor source for obtaining accurate vehicle specs. Edmunds has been known for erroneous and imprecise figures, with the tendency to "enhance" many numbers pertaining to certain automobiles.

im comparing a 95 honda accord automatic to a 95 nissan maxima automatic. real world driving conditions with both cars well over 200,000 miles. both have 80/20 freeway/city driving.

besides like already stated...some of those numbers could be really misleading..i remember msn carpoint saying that my accord had a turbo, and my moms corolla ran on diesel.
