what is the most comfortable shocks/struts for '95 GLE? Is it Tokico Blues, Illumina (set to 1) or Maxima OEM? (front&back)

thanks.

thanks for such fast reply!

Is it noticebly better than aftermarket struts, or in general/theory? I can't really find any online stores that sell OEM struts.

OEM struts are only supposed to be used with OEM springs... so if you want a drop, your best bet is to go with H&R springs (most comfortable, but also the smallest drop) and either Tokico Blue struts or Tokico Illuminas (the latter are adjustable)

Illuminas(Blues are not GOOD AT ALL) and H&R Springs would prob be your best best. People say its better then stock.

Another good choice if you want all-out comfort with OEM springs is the Monroe Sensatrac strut. I just had a set installed 2 months ago. Ride comfort is very, very good. Handling is not improved at all.

Now im getting confused, which is it? there are so many different opinions! i want to lower the vehicle, but keep the most comfortable ride possible? (what is the most comfortable suspension anyway?)

i have to get new shocks soon.. i have a SE
I want a smooth ride, like the gxe/gle. Do the SE's share the same springs as the gxe/gle's?? if so, can i just buy the gxe/gle shocks when i goto the shop?

if you want a lowered comfortable ride go with H&R springs and Tokico Illumina Shocks (adjustable so you can set the softness)

you get a 1.4in drop in the front and a 1.3in drop in the back and a great perfroming strut to handle that drop. it is recommended to get Motivational rear upper mounts to add some more suspension travel in the back (about 1 inch) it helps with potholes or when your back drops quick so struts don't have a rough bounce.

If you want mean drop go with the tein s-tech springs. I have them on my max with kyb gr-2 struts and they ride perfect. The drop is about 2.2 front 1.8 rear. If you get 18's you would need this kind of drop or any 2" drop or else you will get a big gap between the wheel and the fender.

WTF ! 18" need a 2" drop or else. What if you have a body kit that is already sitting 6.5" off the ground in a state like Michigan with ****y streets (winter exempt). Oh my bad, I guess I'll go with the 3.5" wheel gap & the 4x4 look. That saves me $700.00 dollars and sacrifices my cool for $350.00 per inch. Ain't that some crazy *&^*. Well at least my car will be in one piece, and it still breaks *****. ............Hmmmm Tokico Illuminas on H&R......sounds kinda right.

So if I want to use stock springs, Illuminas or OEM shocks are equally the most comfortable? I don't really want to drop it because I live in the "city of hills" (SF).
Thanks.

EO is going to give the most comfortable ride.

Gr-2 is 15% stiffer then stock (per KYB Engineer)

Blue - over priced

If you want to drop it H&R/AGX is the softest combo, but it's never going to be as soft as stock.

I guess i didn't think about that. Then in that case get a tein h-tech drop with 19's
to fill it in better. Big wheel gap looks gay thats just my opinion.
