how is your braking system functioning?

When i brake hard (80-0),
1) on a dry surface the system feels weak and rough. (not smooth compared to when i brake from 30-0) What is causing this?
2) when the ground is wet, the braking system starts to skip (probably some abs system) this is more dangerous then locking for me. I REALLY HATE IT when it does this. is the maxima suppose to do this?

I'm still on stock brakes, i don't think my rotor has ever been replaced (98 se). this might cause the problems. how do you check if you need to machine or replace the rotors?

i usually downshift and tap braking for street driving. ie. i'm going 80mph and i wanna brake

1. tap brake till 60mph, OD/off (3,000rpm)
2. tap brake till 40mph, downshift to 2nd (3,000rpm)
3. tap brake and brake before i hit anything, now 0mph.

i have brembo x-drilled rotors w/ hawk HP brake pads all around. just cleaned the entire braking assembly recently. my braking system is B+ for street driving.

my brakes suck. they are very spongy and i cannot figure out why. i replaced the master cylinder and all that stuff. if i was you just replace the rotors and pads in the front it is easy and not expensive.

he probly means that the pedal has to travel further to stop the car compared to non spongy where the pedal doenst have to travel as far.
