Stock Intake question

I have a short ram intake, well the past owner put it on, and he took all the stock intake parts out except for the (i think) it likes the ram air part. its a '97, and its the BIG piece that goes right up to the grill, and was where the air used to come in....IS THIS PIECE NEEDED? There is nothing hooked up to the other end of it, BUT there is like a wire screwed onto it up by the big part. Can i just unscrewed the wire box thing, and relocate it so i can take out the whole ram air piece?

Yes, you can mount that MAP sensor somewhere else with a zip tie or something

no the mass air flow is the big black thing with teh square on top, that the big gilter is connected to.

The intake temp sensor is the sensor on the black intake down pip that you are removing. i just stuck mine inside the filter and tightened the filter really good. i am about to make another mid pipe where it has a hoel in in it for it.

this si nto need, and if you remove it it makes you engine bay look much cleaner if it is not covered in dirt and stuff.

Ive never seen someones intake with a wire going into it...So how did you keep the MAP sensor from fallikng outta the filter, i mean is it REALLY far in there or what, i dont understand how its IN the filter.... Also, what would happen if i just DIDNT put the sensor in the filter, is that bad for the car?

you know the hole in the filter where you connect the filter to the car. if you do nto get it yet i will take a pic tomarrow and send it to ya. or you could just tie it somewher in the engine bay...
