Stick clutch question

In the past few days, i noticed a weird thing with my stick maxima (now now, i'm just learning stick and have been for 2 week o.O). Sometimes, when i go from 1st gear to 2nd and then to 3rd and 4th, when i let press the clutch + let go of the gas, start changing gears, my RPMs go up to 3-4k o.O and after i move a gear up, (for example, from 2nd to 3rd) the RPMs slowly start going down to 2k. Now i have no idea why tahts happening, and its not happening all the time, only once in a while. Doesnt matter if i'm on a flat road, or up hill. Anyone have any idea?

Thanks for your input

p.s.: my Search options aint working =/

Ok...let me get this straight:

Rolling in 1st gear...
clutch down; engine climbs; shift to 2nd; clutch out; engine goes down

That right? If so, you're left foot is faster than your right...you're disengaging the clutch faster than you're releasing the gas pedal.

I dont think I understand what is happening. Can you describe it in more detail- make sure you tell when the clutch pedal is depressed or not.

Well, ok, so there i am, cruising in my pimp ride, starting to faster. Want to change from 1st to 2nd, or 2nd to 3rd, let go of the gas, then press clutch, AND at the time when i start pressing clutch, my RPMs start going high..up to 3-4ish thousands. I completly press the clutch, change gears, and start letting go of the clutch and start to press the gas pedal, and RPMs slowly start to come down to 2000ish. I dont really know what it is and why it happenes sometimes

sryth: thats what i was thinking at first, and because of that, when it starts doing so, i checked myself to see to let the gas go off completly, and only then press the clutch.

Once it starts going, it doesnt stop messing with me until i come to complete stop and start from 1st again. just weird

you are not letting off the gas early/fast enough before you press the clutch so the engine will rev because you still have the gas pedal slightly pressed.

for now, try letting off the gas pedal before you step on the clutch until you paractice enough that you can get your coordination good enough to do it at the same time.

Hmm...sounds like a sticky throttle. Does this happen if you rev the engine at a standstill? Does it seem to hesitate to come back down?

Don't rev like you're trying to get someone to race you, rather bring it slowly up to ~3k, then let it off slowly.

Also sounds like your clutch might be slipping?? Does it ever slip at WOT?

WOT means Wide Open Throttle (accelerator pedal fully pressed)
