Hood Struts

Hey,
Can anyone direct me to an online mail order source for hood struts.
I've gone to many, but then they say not currently available etc.
I have a 95 SE with a hood that stays up just long enough to make
me forget that it slowly, then suddenly, closes on it's own. My oil
filler funnel was most recently crushed RIP
Viagra for my hood, or new struts.
If you know the part number, that may help.
Thanks

StrongArm part 4524... I forget the SteadyLift part number.

They die too, but at least they're only 1/2 or 1/3rd the cost of the factory ones...

According to Advance Auto Parts' website the strong arms only have a 1 year limited warranty. Anyone know any with a lifetime warranty? I have already been through the OEM struts and a set of strong arms and need to replace them.

I bought my Strong Arm lift supports from Murray's Discount Auto since it was local and I think CarQuest also sells them. Their regular price was $22 each, but I got it on sale for $19 each. Right on the receipt it says "Lifetime Warr." I bought it on 12/24/03

I am going to buy some tomorrow, I will go to CarQuest. I had my hood open today and it came down on my new Craftsman multimeter as I was preparing to check my ECTS sensor and harness. Luckily it was not damaged, good think it came with some rubber type thing that goes around it to protect it .

Just open your hood and place a vise grip right on the piston where the piston comes out of the strut housing. The vise grip will stop the piston from going back in I did this before I had them replaced
