HID igniters?

What are igniters? i've been offered a 6000k hanabi ballast to replace my 8000k one. Also, it comes w/two seperate igniters. Im not sure whether or not mine had them seperate or within the ballast, but a couple questions.

The 6000k ballast will work w/my 8000k right? Also, will i need the two igniters?

Most Hanabi HID set up's that I have seen come with a Ballast (blue box) and a starter module (small red box). I have seen them in th 6k-8k kits. So they are interchangable. For each headlight there is 1 Igniter and 1 ballast.

im kind of hesitant. I'm afraid it will blow again. I might save up for the Phillips kit

My kit only comes w/the ballast, two silver boxes. I dont have a seperate igniter.

Not sure, but I'm guessing it's a bogus claim.
