trunk rattle

trunk rattle

my trunk rattles non stop over any size of a bump, any of u guys had this problem b4, ive looked in there but cant find any kind of a problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

check to see if your car jack and spare tire are secure. Make sure they are tight, and not moving around.

Have you tried pushing down on the trunk lid to see if there is play in it? If there is it's a quick fix. There are four little rubber bump stops that are on the trunk lid. Put 1 or 2 of the felt circles used for the bottom of chair legs. This will secure the trunk and keep it from rattling

sure its your trunk and not your muffler? lots of shields,etc that love to rust lose and rattle.

thanx I30tmikeD ima try that tommorow hope that'll fix it,, and yea im pretty sure its not the muffler cuz its pretty firm when i push down on it

My liscense plate is the only thing that rattles back there, and thats not because of bumps

goto www.vqpower.com and goto mods and look up flip-flop trunk mod ... im bout to do it myself, gotta bump the system in the summer on the block

Another thought.

I got the same problem. The thing is I listening from the inside of the trunk while my wife drove my car around. I pulled the trunk down and it noise stopped so it leads me to believe that the vibration is being caused by interaction from the trunk lid lock and the trunk striker plate. I haven't adjusted the striker plate, because one of the bolts was broken.

Anyone thought of checking this out?

while were on the subject of trunks does anyone else's trunk leak water in? everytime it rains hard i end up with something ruined (dvd cases, fireworks, blankets, tape) and it's starting to get annoying, does anyone know how i could fix it? o and before i bought my car i guess it got hit pretty hard in the back if that matters

get on ebay and do a search for "flip flop trunk kit" and youll get one for a bout $15...it can be done on 4th gen maximas and is extrememly easy....some people have said if you dont do the install perfectly it wont close right so just make sure you do it right
