What goes here? pic (near oil fill)
Ok, here's the deal. About a year ago I tried to replace the PCV Valve. I could not find it and I thought this part had to be it. I replaced the part with a PCV valve.
Then, when reading here on the forums, I found where the PCV valve really goes. I had replaced the wrong part. The car has worked fine, and I haven't noticed anything wrong, I just want to fix it right.
Does anyone know what goes here (the red box)?
Just in case the picture is not showing, the part I am talking about is directly above the oil fill cap. There is a metal tube that comes aout and curves to the left. It has a rubber hose attached that I highlighted in red. I had stuffed a PCV valve between the two, but what really goes here?
Oh and by the way, I got this picture from google images. This is not my car. My car is a 96, but this area looks similar.
Thanks

That looks like a ventilator hose for youe valve cover. If youfollow that hose to the other end, it should be atached to the rear valve cover. You should take the pcv valve(I hope you have already done this) and just pop the hose back on. And that engine looks like the 2000-2001 unless you somehow fitted the intake manifold from that year to your 96 and if so do tell how you did it.

Thanks your your help.
Sorry for the misleading picture. Seems like I can't get anything past you guys.
I took the quick way out and got the picture from google images. My car is a 96, but it looks like that area I was trying to show is similar in both cars.
