1999 Maxima GXE ABS
My 1999 Maxima GXE skids and slips even on very thin layers of snow. Is it because it does not have ABS?
If so, can I have ABS installed? How much does it cost and is it worth spending the money?

What kind of tires do you have? Do you have a barebones GXE or do you have any packages (Security and Convenience)?
You can have ABS installed, but only if you like wasting money. It's probably cheaper and less of a headache to just sell your car and buy another with ABS.

1999 Nissan GLE skidding
I also suspect the car is not well aligned. Could that be another reason for the skidding? I hope getting it aligned will solve the skidding problem. I just bought the car, so I feel bad about its performance in snow.
My tires, though not winter tires seem to be in good shape.
