It might be best if you get an OBD-II scanner, for starters, so you don't touch the ECU anymore.

What did you do last time?

i broke my ecu screw a long time ago, it still works just fine for checking codes and everything, you just have to mess with it a little, and keep double checking to see if the light is flashing, when it stops, and if you've reset it.

It is very delicate, other than taking it apart and replacing the screw you are basically stuck.

You can try Ebay or Pep Poys. The price depends on the codes that it can read. The basic ones can read all the "P0" codes, whereas the more expensive ones can read both the "P0" and "P1" codes. You can get a basic one for little over $100.00, and the more expensive ones will run more like $150.00-$200.00, depending on the brand.

Didn't do anything... I did the same thing as Southeast_first and just messed with it a little whenever I needed to check my codes. Its just nice to have peace of mind knowing that I didn't F* up the computer or my car.
