99 SE How much?
Thinking about selling my 99 SE and buying a 04 Acura TL 3.2 6 speed. I`m wondering how much I could expect to get for it?
99 SE auto, Sterling Mist with black leather. Fully loaded with everything single option except traction control. Bose, heated seats and mirrors. 57,000 miles. Clifford alarm and remote starter. Car is absolutly mint condition. I have the factory 16" 5 spoke rims on it now with a set of one year old Michellin Arctic Alpine winter tires. I also have 4 Konig Blatant 17" rims with 235/45-17 Toyo FZ-4`s. This combo is 10 months old with 4,000 miles on them.
How much should I ask?
Should I let the Konigs go with the car or sell them seperate?

Maybe $11,000 or $11,500? Go to www.kbb.com and www.edmunds.com and find out exactly how much it's worth.
I'd sell the rims separately. They won't add anything to the value of the car for the average prospective buyer, and for some may be a con rather than a pro.

I looked up the value on www.nada.com (which is what dealers around here use) and it said the reatil value is $13,200.

Yeah the book is way off - that does not show how much you will actually get for it, BOSS is correct IMO...no more than 9.
And NADA isn't used by car dealers - they lie!!
Dealers use this http://www.galves.com/

i think Boss is way off on that one,9000 is way to cheap. when i was looking at maximas, i came across 98s with more milage and the same or less options for the upper 8s and low 9s. i would say he could get 10,500 to 11,000 EASY if the car is what he says it is.

Once I look around more and all that good **** I see that they are in fact right, which is odd....The average going price for a 99 on autotrader is $12,400 (which is way too much IMO) from 500 cars. I personally wouldn't pay more than 10 grand simply cuz I know better about deals that may be present for the same car.

I say just find something decent and if the price is below book and it seems like a good deal, go for it!

Well, first of all, Kelly Blue Book is cra p!
Dealers do use NADA. However, they use a special version(I used them when I sold cars) that is different than the consumer one. It is more right on than KBB.
Edmunds almost averages out all the others in a good number for both sides. It keeps the consumers from being ripped off, but still allows the dealer to make some, if used there. (They sure won't tell you that)
Here is what it came out to for your car:
1999 Nissan Maxima 4 Dr SE Sedan
Trade-In ......Private Party ........Dealer Retail
National Base Price $7,826 $9,253 $10,739
Optional Equipment $1,549 $1,847 $2,389
Bose Audio System $206 $246 $318
Power Heated Mirrors $47 $56 $72
Power Driver Seat $83 $99 $128
Front Side Airbag Restraints $57 $68 $88
Garage Door Opener $29 $34 $44
Power Passenger Seat $83 $99 $128
Leather Seats $258 $308 $398
Automatic 4-Speed Transmission $229 $273 $354
Heated Front Seats $57 $68 $88
Antilock Brakes $174 $206 $267
Keyless Entry System $40 $48 $62
Power Moonroof $206 $246 $318
Alarm System $46 $55 $71
Automatic Climate Control $34 $41 $53
Color Adjustment
Gray $27 $32 $37
Regional Adjustment
for Zip Code 39042 $-57 $-67 $-78
Mileage Adjustment
57,000 miles $330 $330 $330
Condition Adjustment
Clean $0 $0 $0
Total $9,675 $11,395 $13,417
Anyway, you should be able to get somewhere over or right at $11,000 for it. I mean, cars aren't bringing what they "say" they bring on the used market, because of all of the rebates being given on the brand new ones. I would ask for $11,300 OBO and take anything that you think is fair down to about $10,600 and up to about $11,500.
It should go for right at about $11,000, but you can ask for more.
$9,000 is way out of whack with those good miles.
Hope this helps...I checked everything possible on the evaluation, except traction cont. Also, being 5 model years old, it has to be in "clean" category not in the "excellent" category, even if it is super clean for its year.

I told y'all so.
I spent the last half year or so looking at 1999 Maxima prices, so I have a good idea of what they go for. Finally bought my loaded black on black 1999 SE 5-speed with 74K for $9995, from a dealer, even. Pretty good deal if you ask me.

that does sound like a good deal. And from a dealer, that is really a good deal.
I looked for over 5 months (while having the money already saved up for the car) before I found my max. I am pretty familiar with the prices too. I ended up paying $11,300 for my 99 SE-L 5spd loaded a year ago with 65,000 miles. That was a good deal too.

I just bought a 99 SE, black with black leather... seems to have more options than most... electric passenger seat, heated seats, traction control, side air bags .... above and beyond the common stuff. It had 37,000 miles and I paid $12,900

Maybe cars are MUCH cheaper in NYC but u can get 00 for 12,000 at a used car dealer. 99 for @ 9g's as a trade u'd prob get 7-8. just my $.02. I know this from shopping and buying my Maxima in november of last year. I looked/passed up plenty of 00 se/gle's for 12-13g's finally getting my 97gle because it was so clean and I wasent working at the time.

Dude! I thought I was reading a post about my car. I bought the EXACT same car, same load out, 57K miles back in Oct from the original owner. At the time, I stole it for 12,200. Now its value has dropped to 11,100 per Edmunds (Northwest region). I buy and sell a bit around here and Edmunds is pretty darn accurate.
Mine is loaded with VB, CAI, Magnaflow, KYB, H&R, plugs, Ypipe, o2s, etc. all new; I'd be ecstatic if I could get 12.9 for it and eat the 2k I just dumped. The payments, insurance and gas are eating me a new one. Orgers won't pay top dollar for these. Your best bet is the Autotrader or paper. Your prospective buyers haven't even heard of the org. They just see the car and like it.
Many Orgers are generalizing on the value. There is a huge disparity between a stock 99SE and a loaded 99SE. I bought my stocker for 9,250. The book msrp was 24k. I bought my loaded 99SE for 12,200 and the msrp was 30k. The trick is to inform the uniformed buyers of this huge disparity in load out as all Maxima ads will say "loaded" because Max's are loaded, compared to other cars.
Just my .02 worth..............Anyone out here wanna nice 99 SE?
