SE vs. GLE suspension

Hey Guys,

I previously owned a 1999 Maxima SE and am now looking at purchasing a 1999 GLE. I may not get the chance to highway drive the GLE and was wondering if any of you guys have comments regarding 80+ mph stability with a GLE vs. an SE model? Any noticeable difference?

Thanks!
Mike

GLE (grand lexurious edition) will ride more comfertable than SE (sports edition) because SE shocks are stiffer than GLE shocks. the tires on the SE is 16" vs. GLE which is 15". you can lower the PSI on all 4 tires to make it softer, and pump upt he PSI to make it stiffer. stock spec i believe is 29psi all around on 15s. and 30psi on 16s. (correct me if i'm wrong) SE will handle a bit better than GLE cuz the springs sits a bit lower than GLE. other than that i think that's it.

The GLE I'm looking at has the 16" mags, same as the SE model, so I'm thinking if the suspension is going to make it feel like a boat, see what I mean?

maxima handles like a boat without some suspension upgrade. i had fstb, rsb, and rstb (which was sold 2 weeks ago) w/ 235/45/17" ecsta supra 712 still can't out handle my sister's corolla. i hope after maxspeed + gr2 will improve my handling by a bit. i never set high expectation on my maxima handling after i rode in dlo_azn's GSR.

ur 16" should stick to the ground a little bit better than 15...well, actually it depends what kinda tires and how much psi it has on each other. either way it will handle like a boat. period.

That was my concern, after driving an SE I may be spoiled handling-wise.
Thanks for your input, I'll make a point of trying it out FULLY first.

Both SE and GLE/GXE stock suspension is too soft IMO, Stock Suspension Maximas dont handle very well.

i agree with Wisky97SE, the GLE suspension is definitely feels like boat, but the SE suspension isnt that much better. My GLE is pretty unstable at 80+, but hopefully H&R's and Tokico Illuminas will solve that
