I have a complete joshua tree woodtrim dash kit and I'm thinking of taking it off but I wasnt sure if anyone knows a good technique for taking it off and making it easier. For whoever has done this, does it leave any marks or anything on the stock trim? I put my dash kit on right after I bought the car and I bought it brand new so the stock trim should look brand new and I want to make sure it still looks like that when I take my woodtrim off.

to get it off quick, heat gun it off, but that may warp the kit the stock should be fine underneath. if you want to keep the kit use a hair dryer and pry it up slowly. your gonna get chunks of 3m tape everywhere so you will have to clean that up, try not to use too harsh of a solvent to clean it off some stuff can strip the plastic and turn it grayish if you use too much of it.

I don't think you'll be able to get it off w/o leaving some residue on the dash pieces. I have considered doing this too but knowing I'll have to replace it with something else. I think a hair dryer or heat gun (used with care) will help get the wood off. I've taken off two pieces, the ones on top of the dash where the side window vents are and find there is still some residue there.

I'm thinking of just taking off the pieces around the clock and the climate control panel for now and leaving everything else on. I wont be using it ever again though so I really dont care what happens to it. I think I'll eventually get brushed aluminum.

SINYMaxSE is right, use a heat gun to get it off. I took mines off by just pulling firmly, no heat. I would consider removing the clock and panel, work on them on a workbench or table. It's pretty easy to remove, just clips. I didn't have any markes under after remving trim. Good luck!
