Well, I went to the car wash today...

...I was lining up my wheel in the tracks of the car wash. The attendant signals me forward. I pull up slowly and out of no where, bump. The car stops and rolls back a bit. I ease forward as he waves me on a 2nd time. Happens again. Attendant continues waving. The tires start spinning. Some part of the frame was hitting the track.

Turns out I'm too low for the car wash

About 10 cars had to back up and move so I could get out of line! So, I then went home and did it myself

Ok so maybe dropping you would be going too far, but I'm sure I'd be pretty p!ssed off, just as everyone else would be.

In any case, I hear ya man. I know car washes can be a pain because one by my house has a tendency to bend or twist front license plates. I promised myself I'd never go there again and I never did. It did it to my car, my mom's car, my sister's car and my dad's car, but unlike me, they really don't care.

i got one of those non-contact car washes by my house, so it's just water, no tracks or anything, i just drive in, and it moves around me. sometimes i think the 2 min, and qualitiy wash for like 7.99 cnd is worth the hastle of doing it myself, unless it's a nice summer day.

I prefer to wash my car myself. Gives me a chance to evaluate the paint to see if any bastard dinged my car.
Also I am particular of what goes on my cars skin. You never know what kind of cheap waxes some car washes are shooting at your car.

Hey welcome to the club man. I remember when I went to the car wash that fateful day and couldn't fit in the tracks. I miss the car wash. The weather here in NY has been the WORST and I haven't been able to wash the car myself lately.

They have that new Mr. Clean thing out now; the autodry soap. I gotta try that thing. The only pain with washing a car is drying it, and now that has been resolved. Has anyone tried it?

I got it. It works pretty good, and having water and soap at the twist of a **** is nice! The auto-dry uses deionized water ( so no lose H+ or OH -).
First: you use the bypass and use regular water
Second:soap
3rd: repeat 1st
4th: rinse off the regular water with deionized water--which dries with no spots(same water used in the lab!)

i dont like the soap that comes with the mr clean, so i just use the meguiars nxt tech wash, and use the mr clean for the rinse and spot free rinse features. the mr clean left weird streaks on my car, but otherwise, its nice

I would NEVER use on of those type of carwashes.
First of all, I dont trust those wheel guides on my wheels. Im sure they would ruin my wheels.
Second, I prefer to hand wash my car with a soft sponge and dry with a chamois. The end result to me is sooo much nicer then the outcome of one of those drive thru washes. It does take longer, but woth it
