Yeah, I will stick around
But the G35 as nice as it is is smaller than max, especially in the back.

how about an altima? the 3.5 V6 aren't that bad. Or the new accords are nice too. How much were you planning to spend on your new car anyway?

Well here is the deal: I am hooked on maximas 4th and 5th gen. But I don't have all kinds of time to wait for the right one to come by. So I am open to different possibilities. I'd prefer a sedan, but an SUV could do as well.
I know you guys are probably gonna crucify my for this, but I like the Acuras TL and RL a lot.
I have a body guy too, so I can buy a slightly hit one, with body damage and have him fix it for me for dirt cheap.
I was at a local auction yesterday and passed up on a 98 SE with 87K, but cigarette burns in front and back seats and slightly rough outside. It went for $5200 and my highest bid was $5K. The rough interior is what scared me away.
I looked at a 97 I30,with 100K but it was junk.
If you guys have any suggestions, I would appreciate them.

The new TLs are tite~! 270hp 6-spd manual the older models are cool too, i think 240hp 5-spd auto-shift? But the RLs are kinda bit old for me. I'd look like an idiotic kid in a car like that. Go treat yourself to a new TL, at least i approve.

Maciek,
congrats on the sale....i have decided to sell mine for sure now too...i still have to fix it after the last hit & run and after that it's bye-bye max. . .
but i've looked at the market and just can't make up my mind on my next car...
my budget is around $20K and i've looked at audi's, bmw's, the mazda6, the accord, and a bunch of others...but i think i've made up my mind... maximas are reliable & i love 'em. . . gonna go with an 03 6spd this time... i'm not in a big hurry to find a car so i have to have a black on black fully loaded or nothing else...

have you considered the 5th gen???

Sam

if it were me, and ur hookup is reliable. I'd get a 02-03 maxima stick stollen recovery or lite accident (no frame/airbag damage). U could buy it fix/customize for under 10 easy. I also personally love the acura cl's (especially the type s), but by ur choices I am assuming u want a sedan... newer accords are very nice too. My boy lent me his 04 when he went on a cruise and I was considering buying one.

I ALWAYS advise driving a lot of different cars and spending the most time u can b4 buying any car. When u find what u like drive a few different ones of the same model too. I usually spend 3-6 months minimum b4 buying.

Sam, thanks and good luck. 03 stick b/b will be off the chain!
Peter, I am almost 30, so I'd fit right in an RL, but hard to find good year and decent miles
Carlos, that is what I am mainly after (damaged ones). The CL... cannot stand the lookof the tail lights, but becides that it is sweet.
I was looking at '99 A6, red hit in front (bumper, light, 1/4 and hood and radiator to be replaced) black leather, wood, 100,000, but super tight - $6400, but I got to read ratings and got scared away. 75% of owners said they are beautiful to look at, but a reliability nightmare. "once a month to dealer for repairs" said one. And that **** ain't cheap.
I'd rather pay cash, no more than 8K, but I just called a bank about a small loan too, so we will se what kind of budget I can work with.
What do you guys think about Mazda and Mitsu's (millenia, 6, Gallant and Diamante)?

yeah i wouldn't suggest buying an old Audi. I think newer ones are okay but not a 99. My friend who owns an 03 A4 and that worked at an Audi dealer for one summer said that people had so many problems with their Audi. Not sure which one in particular but i remember him saying that the 02 A4s were crap but 03 and up are okay. Maybe he's just biased but believe me when I say that people don't buy German cars for reliability. I think German cars have the most electrical problems and with all the luxury options that most German cars offer, one thing breaks down, everything breaks down cuz everything hooked up with each other. For example, on Audiworld.com, someone tried putting HIDs on their fogs and the computer sensed that the wattage was too high so the CEL came on. Ridiculous but cool at the same time. How about the older version of the S4? V6 Twin Turbo. Bullet-Proof engine so not many people have problems with their engines. The new ones are V8 non-turbo but still quick. But for modding the older S4s are the way to go I think RLs are cool. But I'd rather get a GS400 V8 over that. But with today's gas prices, i'd have to reconsider. The new ones they're coming out with are awesome. Adjustable stock shocks and other cool features. How about an ES300? They handle like a boat but man Lexus's ride comfort is like heaven. Good Luck in choosing your new car. (Get the TT S4!)
