moving drivers seat further back
i have a 96 max gle and i was wondering if there is anyway to make the seat go further back, i feel like i could use a couple of more inches of leg room, so would it be possible to remount the seat a couple of inches back or is there any other way to go about doing, ideas, concerns, any comments are more than welcome........
thanks

You'll need to make custom brackets to mount the seat track further back. Pretty simple to do, but you'll need metwalworking tools, grinder, welder etc.
I made custome rear brackets to relocate the back of the seat 2" lower so my head would quit rubbing on the ceiling. Worked perfectly.

(sorry about the fuzzy pic - I did this 3 years ago and my camera was crap)

This last one shows the brackets as seen by the rear passenger. This is witht eh seat wound all the way forward - in normal driving position you don't see them at all.

Don't forget to consider the effect of moving the seat rearward on the fit of the seatbelt. If it hangs loose in front of you then it will be no use in a crash. The B-pillar seatbelt mount cannot be in front of your body if you want the belt to work correctly.
