remus exhaust

i don't know if this has been discussed before, but has anyone tried out the remus exhaust?? my friend was looking to get one for his jetta and he showed me the website a while ago. the sound clips sounded very nice, deep tone and not loud at all. it looks very nice as well. they say that they make OEM exhausts for Ferrari, Porsche, BMW, and Mercedes Benz. Just wondering if anyone here has one installed on their max or possibly a different car and do you like it?

here's the ebay link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2468963897

if you go to the installed pics page, there's one installed on a 4th gen...looks pretty nice

ehh...its just a muffler...which to me is a waste of money...you should just get a full exhaust instead of a muffer, which gives some performance gains over almost nothing...but thats just my opinion

Most of the performance gains in an exhaust system are actually gained from the muffler itself. This is the most restrictive part of the exhaust past the cat. converter. Mandrel bent pipe helps, but the gains are minimal. Stock mufflers are designed to be quiet, and are almost always restrictive to do so.

ugh...wtf u smoking?

no, the most restrictive exhaust component on 4th maxima is the y-pipe. u won't pick up any WHP just by changing the muffler itself. u get 1 WHP at the crank if you are lucky.

He said "past the cat" ergo the y-pipe is not considered (unless you have a very unique installation)

You are waaaaaay off and very wrong.
The most restrictive part of the exhaust on a 4th gen is the crimp in the B-pipe right after the cat. Swaping out the stock muffler for anything else will show no "real" gains, and even fixing the crimp in the b-pipe won't do a whole lot. The stock catback on a 4th really is not that restrictive. Nealoc187 with the fastest NA 4th gen known to man saw no gains at the track at all by going to a full cat back.

I have the exhaust you posted. I haven't put it on yet though. I'm still debating whether I should put it on, or sell it off. I was told that it is too small for my car. Is that possible? Also, the inlet is only 2"...
