ECU 0304 and 0103 question....

my check engine light came on again and it coded for 0304 and 0103 which are the engine coolant temperature sensor and knock sensor, both related to electric problem...either too high or too low voltage. i was wondering, does anyone know if this is going to be a problem? or do i need to take my car in to take a look... and can anyone tell me what exactly the knock sensor is? thanks~

i don't know about the engine coolant sensor but with the KS, you should replace it because you lose a lot of HP. Read this page it tells you a lotta information on the Knock Sensor and their purpose. http://forums.maxima.org/showpost.ph...3&postcount=42

this is wat a knock sensor looks like. 90 is usually the going rate for KSs but some lucky people have gotten them for cheaper. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2468522418 make sure it's Nissan Part #22060-30P00.

Also, if you do buy that one, here are DIY instructions. So just buy the part and when you have time replace it yourself using these instructions. http://www.motorvate.ca/mvp.php/507

I'm hope this helped. Good Luck with your repairs.

it'd still be fine but the way i see it is if there's a problem with your car, you should fix it right away because a car problem is like cancer. One thing breaks, then other things have to work retardedly/harder, so other things are bound to break. Just get the KS, it's like getting more HP. People compare the gain to a y-pipe gain. And that's a good gain that's worth 90 bux, imo. Good Luck

not only will you get back ALLLL that hp power you lost, you'll also see a good amount of better gas milage. i saw a 3-4 better gas milage when i chaged mine. use to be gettin 14.XXmpg now i'm gettin 17.8X or 18.XX. and not to mention you get back A LOT of lost hp. its not all that crucial that you change your ks......its not hurting you car nor hurting other parts of the engine, so its not something you need to do asap. but you should definitely look into and change it soon. a KS will never trigger a check engine light. so you might want to check out your coolant problem.

uhmm check the code 0304. its the knock sensor fault code. i think its the voltage signal from the ks to the engine control module that got messed up and so the check engine light came on. but thanks for the info. i really appreciate it~
