How do you turn on your foglights WITHOUT the headlights coming on too?
How do you turn on your foglights WITHOUT the headlights coming on too?
I have a 98 Maxima SE, and it has a little rotating switch that I use to turn on my foglights. However, the foglights can only be activiated when I have my headlights on! Is there any way to rewire them so that they are able to come on with the parking lights ALSO? Thanks. (Hope everyone knows what I'm talkin about here. lol)

Can we rewire the fogs so that they also turn off when high beams are on atfer rewiring them to be independent of the headlights? The reason I ask is I want to be able to run the fogs with only the park lights on but still have it that they shut down when the high beams are on. In Pennsylvania it is law they must be this way.

1. He's right, you can't have your cake and eat it too. If you want the fogs to turn off when the high beams are on, you'll have to do it manually.
2. Fock pennsylvania law. There's plenty of cars that (stock) keep the fogs on when the highbeams are turned on.
Just a ? about the law there in PA.
What does it matter if you have the fogs on too, you are supposed to turn your highbeams off when oncoming traffic appears so why would it matter if the fogs are on at the same time.

Just because the lawmakers in PA like to smoke big bags of crack.
Look at it this way:
1. There is no law against tinting, however you can recieve a ticket for it.
2. Half of the state has strict emissions testing, while the other half only has to have a catalytic converter (with no "probe" testing) to pass emissions.
3. It's legal for the cops to rip out your seats every other weekend just for the hell of it (or maybe it's just my town).
4. You can have your car impounded for having LED washer lights.
I'm sure there's more, but i'm beat and i can't think.

Good discussion, men. There is a law in PA for tinting....I believe I recently read on PennDOT that windows may be tinted to 30%, which means 70% must show through. The emissions thing in PA is a true joke, like you said, it only applies to certain counties-total BS! LED's and other non-conforming lights are supposedly distracting therefore outlawed in PA. You'd think with all the fines they collect for BS stuff our roads would at least be decent and not the joke of the country. I know for a fact that the high beam/fog light thing in PA is real because my one truck could not pass inspection with my foggers still able to shine while in high beam mode, no idea why, but true. I know there is a way to wire them so the fogs cut off when highs are on, but I don't have the skill or knowledge to make the change unless I have very specific instructions. BTW, I'm from Bethlehem, a little way down the road from the Poconos....

I definitely agree with the comment about the roads. Not only are they potholed to hell, but why is it that in NJ, I-78 and 80 are 3 lanes at the minimum, but in PA, we only get 1 1/2.
check this out for what i mean by no clear tinting laws. It's not the site i normally use, but it still basically says the same thing.
Yeah, i work in phillipsburg, and go all over the lehigh valley. There's 1 or 2 guys in allentown, and another dude in easton. I'm moving down that way in june. We should all get together and have a meet.

Sounds good, bro. I didn't realize we had other PA brethren here. I never see them, but it's good to know. Maybe we can hook up for a mini meet. My Max will, no doubt, be the weakest of the bunch, but maybe I can learn something from you guys.

just check the northeastern forum. I think someone's trying to get a meet together at PSU in hazleton in April.
:o)
If I want my brights and fogs on at the same time (which is rare), I just simply move my stick ever so slightly until it is in the middle between brights and low beams. It works.
