Using the self diagnosis....

My check engine light came on and I went to the faq about the check engine light and the self diagnosis, looked at my car and where I am supposed to use a flat head screwdriver its different. Its a 99 se and beneath the sticker that I peeled off it looks like some sort of gear (not directly in the center) and it said idle speed and self diagnosis around the hole. How do I use this? I looked and looked and cant find any info, input is greatly appreciated.

It is a very small screw that is easy to bend. You cn turn hte screw until you hear a little noise from the ECU and then turn it back. Or you can take to autozone and let them check and then convert the codes.
