Wanting to Change Seat. What measurements?
Wanting to Change Seat. What measurements?
I want to change my stock seat. Probably Acura or BMW since those seem to be more available in tan leather than any other. What basic measurements am I looking for? I also want the power adjustments, so I'm thinking custom wiring, yes or no? or could I just adapt my current motors and adjustments to another seat?
thanks
thanks
It would be very difficult to adapt any motors but the forward/backward motor to a new seat chassis but go for it if you really want. I spent six hours yesterday on just the rail and that was hard enough for me. Check my homepage for details. I would think adapting the wiring would be easier but then the bracket out of the Acura or BMW is a different shape than the Max. This is not an easy project. Why do you want a new seat? If your looking for body holding support you might as well do something a little more agressive than those because even at a junk yard the whole seat will run you over $200. Just my thoughts.

The 9-10 hr drives to Ohio are killing me. I do them about once or twice a month, so I want something that'll be comfortable on the long trips, and maybe give a little better lateral support for auto-x.
I'm thining Acura CL, BMW 3,5, or 7 series, 5th Gen max, or 300zx. I'm looking thru eBay and I think life would be 20x easier if I had black interior. I'm also not too sure about eBay since I want power seats. Which = heavy, which = $$$ for shipping.
BTW, what are the toggle switches for in your center console?

Okay, that it explains it. I thought you wanted new seats because your stockers were worn. Now that you explain your situation I even more strongly recomend a nice set of Corbeaus. I have sat in two of their models and have loved both. My favorite of the two for comfort and out of all for support and looks is the Legacy. Check this site. www.motorsportseats.com.
The switches. Left=Drop Resistor, Center=Interior Glow, Right=Grill Glow.
