Head Gasket Oil Leak
Geez, I've got a 96 Maxima with only 105,000 miles on it and it appears to have a tiny (but bothersome) oil leak on the back head gasket just above the power steering pump. I've changed the valve cover gaskets and now the oil pan gasket.... thinking it must be one of them.... then last night after a grueling 5 hour pan gasket swap I find the true culprit... I admit that I saw the small wet spot or "sweating" I call it, on the head a week ago, but figured... No Way! Well, I was wrong. Is this a very common problem? I am not looking forward to doing the head gasket and I REALLY loath the idea of paying someone to do it. So, is there a short cut to repair this thing? And if I do get into the guts of the motor to replace the gasket, is there anything I should change while I'm there...Thanks, and I am a

Have you tried some UV dye and a good UV lamp? First clean off any old oil and mess before you run the UV dye. It seems like alot of work could have already been saved by doing this first...and possibly save you some more time if you check again where this leak is coming from.
