Transmission life curiosity

I have heard that the maxima transmission is the weakest link on the vehicle and I believe this. I was just curious if your tranny went, how many miles for the original, and if it has died more then once, how many on the second. Feel free to include driving styles, and clutch/flywheel mods. My friend has gone through three tranny's and a blown motor in his 95 SE so I think hes the extreme case.

that is weird... I bought my car form a person that drove on the HWY for the 9 years that they owned (manual) now it has 175000 , and I don't think they ever changed anything on it. (he kept record of verything he ever did to his car)

I'm starting to be afraid that my trans. will blow at any second.

I change my tranny fluid religiously at 30,000 miles with a full synthetic like Mobil 1 or AMSOIL. If you take care of your tranny it will take care of you, just like your car.

I drive like a bat out of hell...always. Well, not so much any more.

1998 Maxima SE
54k - Bought the car
90k - Replaced the clutch with an ACT. Bad bearings (input shaft) discovered when changing clutch
115k - Bearings went out. Replaced all bearings.
120k - Tranny completely melted. Replaced with junkyard tranny w/108k on it.
